Leader Packet
This page is for the lucky, formerly known as fearless, leader.
The stuff you need:
Trip Leader Packet
Food Worksheet
Read it through, but here's the basics:
- Get CPR and First Aid certified.
- Plan an awesomely fun and amazing trip. (This is the most important step, really.)
- Have open signups available to everyone.
- If you need food, check out the food worksheet and fill in what you want, get participants' ID numbers, and give both the ID numbers and the filled out sheet to the food manager (chamberd) at least a week before you leave.
- Get gear; talk to the gear dudes.
- Sign waivers and fill out an itinerary.
- Have a sweet sweet trip.
- Come home and do homework. (Optional)
The first six pages of the packet are for you. The remainder are identical liability forms. Print only the number of forms you need, and have everyone fill them out at signups. Take the forms to campus activities. Print in duplex, there are spaces provided in the appropriate places so that this will result in a pretty document. The Protocol for Leading a Trip form is for your information and slightly outdated, but should give you a general idea of what you are required to do.
- The Trip Equipment Request form goes to a gear manager (hansenb or frickea).
- The Food Request form goes to the food manager (chamberd).
- The itinerary should be filled out at signup and a copy given to the food manager and another to the secretary.
- The liability/waiver forms should be filled out at signups and immediately given to campus activities.
