Welcome
Thanks for coming to the Carleton Singing Knights web page. In short, we're the only a cappella group on campus un-original enough to steal our name from the school's mascot. More to the point, we're a group of between 8 and 12 guys who sing songs from genres ranging from traditional to pop rock. For a better idea of what we sing, head over to the repertoire page. If you'd like to get a hold of the group because you'd like to have us sing for you, this is the page for you. To find out more about the individuals in the group, try the members page. Finally, if you'd like to drop in on a practice and meet us in person, we can be found Tuesdays, Thursday, and Sundays sometime around 9:00-10:00 PM at Dacie Moses' house. More on her and other parts of the Knights heritage in the history page.

So we must admit: we've been lazy. It's been more than a year since our last post, and we're all very ashamed of ourselves (as you can see from our picture, which is also really old).
Despite our obvious update problems, we have indeed been busy. We have four new members in the Knights: Chris Densmore, Andrew Schneider-Adams, Paul Hoffer (all freshmen), and Owen Demke (sophomore). So far they have given us nothing but trouble, so they may not last long.
In other news, we have lost four fine gentlemen who graduated last year: Jacob Hilty, Kirke Elsaas, Tom Fry, and Tom Weishan. They are currently wishing they were still singing with us. Two other Knights, Nathan Lysne and Eddie Bearnot, are also off-campus this term, so we lack a junior presence.
In terms of recent activity, we had our first performance at Parent's Weekend at Carleton last week, and we just performed at Macalaster College's "Acappellooza" on October 24. Finally, we're really excited to announce that our new CD (currently untitled). Look for more news on this site over the next month, particularly in the members and repertoire sections.

Hello everyone out there in "the tubes". We started off this year with a bang as always. We had auditions and had an extremely talented pool of guys this year. Out of this group we have four new members all freshmen, Ebuka Amaefuna, Alek Sharma, Leo Hummel, and Tom Singell. Senior Tom Fry and Junior Andrew Snyder are also currently off campus studying the world so we wish them a great fall term.
I also have one sad duty and that is to say bid a fond farewell to our only graduating senior from last year, Jonah Ostroff, you will be missed it will be hard to imagine this group without you.
Look for updates to the profiles, section as well as new music coming out. Also we are planning to release a cd this year details forthcoming. Lastly, in terms of media coverage please check out our article in the most recent Paste magazine, it makes us really excited so please do check it out, page 16.

As most school years do, this one began quite busily. We have just completed tryouts and I am happy to say we saw a lot of talented singers come out this year. These tryouts resulted in the addition of two new members Eddie Bearnot and Nathan Lysne to the group (profiles coming soon), Congratulations to both of them. Also, one of our Junior Members Kirke is currently abroad in Italy, so we wish him the best.
In further news, we have started selling single MP3s including some previously unreleased tracks on our myspace page so please go and check that out.

First and foremost, a big welcome to our new member from last term Ben Mirin. Sorry for taking so long to get this on the site, and too all you Ben fans out there: his profile will be updated soon.
The other big news of the term is we are (finally) putting out the album recorded last summer. So if you want to relive the glory days of such hits as "District Sleeps Alone Tonight", "Soul Meets Body", and "Harder Better Faster Stronger" keep your eyes open for the release at Carleton's own Bookstore. The album should be release around mid-May and when we have a more firm date it will be posted immediately. Full Press Release
One more small tidbit, apprently people have posted some youtube videos of Carleton's favorite all male a cappella group so if you want to check that out here are some hits from the past couple of years.

Welcome to the new year everyone.
First of all, one of our members has decided to transfer, and we just wanted to bid a fond farewell and wish him luck in future endeavors.
Secondly, Jonah Ostroff just got back from learning lots of math in Budapest and we are glad to have him back. Tom Weishan, in the meantime, has decided to go to the nation's capital for a term so we will see him again come spring.
Thirdly, we wanted to let the masses know that we are holding auditions one week from today, on Sunday, January 14th. If you are interested please come to the first floor of the old music hall at 1:00 pm sharp, if for any reason you have to be late please contact us.

Our fall concert just happened and was , to quote Adam Fetcher, a HUGE success. Thanks again to Intertwining Melodies for singing with us. We also sang at Macalester for their a cappella fest: a special thanks to the Trads and The Sirens for inviting us. Updates to the website are coming and should be up before the end of Winter Break

Now for shameless promotion: Our new album should be coming out this winter term. If you are interested in purchasing it please contact us at Knights-at-carleton-dot-edu, or just come to one of our shows.
Have a great break everybody!
