History

A syzygy is the alignment of three heavenly bodies (planets, moons, stars, etc).

The Marines

In 1982 the team was created, but for the first year we were known as the Marines. It started out as a womens IM team, but to be a legal team they needed a "few good men" for gender distribution. In 1983 they formed a team for intercolligiate play and the two men who had played with them at home came along to help assist in coaching. The first tournament they played was Sectionals at Carbondale Illinios. The college gave them $50 to rent a van and they drove throught the night to play three games the following day. 2001	Quarter-finalist at Nationals in Boston, MA
2000	National Champions! Beat UNCW in the finals in Boise, ID
1999	Took second to Stanford at Nationals in Boulder, CO.
1998	Took second at to Stanford at Nationals in Blaine, MN.
1997	Semi-Finalist At Nationals in Davis, CA
1996	Semi-Finalist at Nationals in Blaine, MN
1995	Nationals in Champagne-Urbana, IL
1994	Nationals in Baton Rouge, LA
1993	Made it to semi's at Nationals in Bethlehem (Lehigh), PA
1992	Made it to Quarters at Nationals in Ft. Collins, CO
1991	Made it to semi's at Nationals in Madison, WI
1990	Made it to Semi's at Nationals in Pheonix, AZ
1989	Semi-Finalist at Nationals in Wilmington, NC
1988	First appearance at Nationals. Took 7th? in Santa Barbara, CA.
