ACTR is only one of many theater organizations at Carleton. Students interested in theater should also look into:
Carleton College Department of Theater Studies/Carleton Players: The theater department produces one faculty-directed play per term (three per year). These shows are produced under the name "Carleton Players". Players is also a student organization responsible for finding technical staff for the productions, as well as organizing speakers, trips, and workshops throughout the year.
The Experimental Theater Board: ETB produces several student-directed plays each term. They also produce "Hit and Run", a showcase of one-act plays in the fall, and sponsor the One-Act Festival in spring (a playwriting contest where the winners' works are performed).
Student Musical Theater: SMT produces two student-directed musicals each year.
Black Dramatic Arts Group: Each winter, in coordination with BSA (Black Students Alliance), BDAG produces "We Speak".
Cujokra: Cujokra is an improvisational comedy troupe utilizing a variety of short-form improvisational formats.
Harriers: Harriers is an improvisational troupe that performs Harolds, a half-hour improvisational form based on a single word or theme from the audience.
Chelsea 11:17: Chelsea 11:17 is an informal workshop for student-written sketches, which may or may not be based on three "ingredients" that change each week. Meetings are at 11:17 PM in Nourse Little Theater on Fridays.
