Our Next Meeting...

This term, our weekly meetings are Saturdays at 2 PM. On the even-numbered weeks, we'll be reading and discussing a play (the plays are always going to be on open reserve before we discuss them). On odd-numbered weeks, we'll meet in the CMC to work on the Alternative Canon, whose progress can be viewed on this very site! :) The plays will be:

2nd week: Tea by Velina Hasu Houston
4th week: Zoot Suit by Luis Valdez
6th week: Short Eyes by Miguel Pinero
8th week: Trying to Find Chinatown by David Henry Hwang

Current Business

Along with discussing the plays and working on the site, we have a couple other things in the mix. There are three readings going up this term:
3rd week: The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman, directed by Mikki Unson '02.
4th week: The Most Massive Woman Wins, directed by Emily Meisler '05.
5th week: The Island by Athol Fugard, directed by Adrian Blazek '03.

Ninth week will be our first-ever full production, References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot by Jose Rivera, directed by Sancho Cochran-Bond '03.

This term, we're also trying to get ourselves organized and established. A committee headed by co-chairs Yam Ki Chan '04 and Nosipho Beaufort '02 is in charge of coordinating our budget with CSA. Another committee, headed by co-chairs Adrian Blazek '03 and Jennifer Wang '02, is in charge of getting our by-laws drafted. Please come to a meeting or e-mail us if you're interested in participating!
