FAQ

I'm a prospective student who's looking at Carleton, and I'd like to come out and the meet the team. What should I do?

Great! We'd love to meet you. You should e-mail one (or all) of the captains a week or so before you come. We can probably find a CUT player who'd be willing to put you up for a couple nights, too.

What is CUT all about?

(SHORT) TEAM HISTORY:

In 1984, the Carleton Ultimate Team (CUT) was spawned from a team named the Frisbee Union of Carleton Knights. Since CUT's inception, the team has steadily risen to become one of the nation's dominant teams in college ultimate. During this growth, more and more people have shown an interest in playing for CUT. Players have included talented football, soccer, and tennis players, as well as cross-country runners and, of course, high school ultimate players.

LEVEL OF COMPETITION AND GOALS:

The Carleton Ultimate Team competes at the highest level of college ultimate. During the spring season, CUT attends 4-5 highly competitive college tournaments at various locations around the United States in preparation for the National Championships in late May. The goal for each season is to win the College National Championship. With a championship in 2001 and nine semi-finals appearances, CUT represents one of the greatest dynasties in college ultimate.

LIFE AT CARLETON AND PLAYING FOR CUT:

Carleton College has strong reputations in both the ultimate and academic communities. CUT players have the privilege of playing ultimate at the highest level of the college game, receiving an excellent education at one of the nation's top liberal arts colleges, and becoming part of a tightly knit group of motivated, fun individuals.
