Lessons
We offer several learning opportunities, including a PE class taught every term, PE 168 Social Dance: Swing. Check out the class blog, which includes lesson notes and video clips. Several times a year, we bring in a professional instructor to teach an afternoon of lessons to students for free. Additionally, we offer short weekly lessons followed by open dance practice in Cowling Dance Studio.

Lesson Schedule Fall Term 2005
Lessons are held on Tuesdays from 9:00 - 9:30 pm in Cowling Dance Studio. Out of respect for the teachers and other students, please try your best to arrive on time. Lesson will be followed by open dance practice from 9:30 - 11:00 pm. Stick around to practice your new moves!

We begin each term with a beginner lesson series. This typically lasts the first four weeks of the term. By the end of this series, you should be comfortable with the fundamental rhythms and moves of Lindy Hop. Taking these classes is a great way to learn the basics of Swing dancing and to feel confident and comfortable out on the floor.

For the rest of each term, the club holds weekly lessons on a variety of topics in the dance. These lessons frequently include more advanced movement variations, advanced technique, dips and fancy moves, stylization, as well as introductory lessons in dances such as the Charleston or blues dancing.
