Introduction

The Carleton Table Tennis Club was started in the fall of 2005. It is a platform that challenges experienced players, allows intermediate players to improve, and introduces beginners to what makes table tennis so unique. People of all ages, physical abilities, and backgrounds are welcome to hone their skills or play a relaxing game with friends. Read more about the club in our charter.

  • January 15, 2007: Happy New Year!!! (slightly belated) I have been somewhat late in updating the website here, but the Carleton Table Tennis Club is already well under way towards an action-packed winter 2007 term. One of the highlights of the term is the newly-acquired set of equipment, which includes two new tables, new rackets and balls. And the best part is that we have had very good attendance rates over the past weekends, with almost all the tables occupied for most of the time. We would also like to welcome back one of our officers and star table tennis player Khanh Nguyen '08, who was in China during fall term. If you haven't seen him in action, you should definitely come to our semiweekly practices. This term we are meeting every Thursday from 4:30pm to 6:00pm and every Saturday from 1pm to 3pm.
  • October 17, 2006: Congratulations !!! to Felix Amankona-Diaouw '08, who won last Sunday's Porky's Fall Classic table tennis tournament in Fridley, MN (see news item below). Felix represented Carleton at the tournament along with Wain Yee '07. Thanks are due also to Anthropology professor Naran Bilik who drove them to Fridley for the tournament. Pictures from the tournament and from our practices are forthcoming.
  • October 5, 2006: Our president Felix recently sent out the following email:
"The Minnesota Fall Classic Open table tennis tournament is going to be held in Fridley on October 14 and 15 (midterm break weekend). I have played in this tournament before and I'm going to play again this time (sunday oct. 15). They usually have different brackets based on level of play so you don't have to be super-good to play. I have attached a registration form to this email so you can register if you are interested in playing. If you don't want to play then you can also come and watch some of the best players from Minnesota and other states play. I find that my game improves a lot after playing or watching these tournaments so I will encourage those of you who are interested in playing competitively to attend." You can find the registration form here. Interested players, if you have any questions, please contact Felix.
