The research robot project is meant to be compatible with the OAP (Open Automaton Project) open-source robotics software. This robot will run LINUX, letting us do more advanced AI (including stereo vision, mapping, and path planning). The mechanical design and assembly is complete, and we are working on electrical and computer systems. Our goal is to have the robot driving around by the end of the term (Thanksgiving 2006).
